Terms of sale
Last updated: October 2026
These terms apply to every order of a MeshSat Compact v2 placed on this site. Ordering is not open yet; the terms are published so you can read them before it is.
Who you buy from
Elli.Z.G., trading as MeshSat, a sole proprietorship under Dutch law, Floresstraat 17, 2315 HP Leiden, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce 99812584, VAT NL005411721B30, hello@meshsat.net. The full identity block is on the seller identity page.
What you buy
A MeshSat Compact v2, model MSC-2, assembled and tested by us, with the parts listed under “What is in the box” on the product page, its instructions and safety leaflet and its EU declaration of conformity. The unit is a prototype design built in small numbers. The product page says what has been tested and what has not; we do not promise more than it says.
The unit needs an Iridium airtime line, which you rent from the airtime provider under their terms. Airtime is not part of the sale.
Prices
Prices are in euro and include Dutch VAT at 21 %. The price you pay is the one shown on the product page when you order. Shipping costs are shown before you order and are added at checkout. Nothing is added afterwards.
Ordering and payment
You order through our checkout, which runs on hub.meshsat.net and takes payment through Stripe. We do not see or store your card or bank details. A contract exists when we confirm your order by e-mail with your receipt. We may decline an order, for example when it names a delivery address outside the European Union; you are then told and nothing is charged or anything charged is returned.
Pre-orders. When a unit is not in stock we take a pre-order with a deposit of at most half the price. The rest is invoiced when the unit is ready to ship and the unit ships when that invoice is paid. The expected shipping window is shown on the product page; it is an estimate, and we tell you if it moves. You may cancel a pre-order at any time before dispatch; the deposit is returned within 14 days.
Delivery
We ship to addresses in the European Union only, by insured parcel. The delivery time per country is shown before you order. The unit is yours, and at your risk, from the moment it is delivered to you or to someone you named.
Right of withdrawal
As a consumer you may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving the unit, without giving a reason. How that works, the model form and the online withdrawal function are on the right of withdrawal page. You bear the cost of sending the unit back. We refund within 14 days of receiving the unit back, or of your proof of having sent it, with the payment method you used.
Legal guarantee
A unit must be as described and work as described. If it does not, you have the rights the law gives consumers in your country of residence, which in the European Union last at least two years from delivery: repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund. In the Netherlands the guarantee lasts as long as can reasonably be expected of the product. Write to hello@meshsat.net with the serial number and what happened; we arrange the return. Damage from use outside the leaflet’s instructions, from a cell other than the specified one, or from opening the sealed case without need is not covered.
What the unit is not
MeshSat is not an emergency service and the unit is not a distress device. Message delivery is best effort over networks nobody controls. Do not rely on it to call for help, and keep an independent means of raising the alarm. Within the limits the law allows, we are not liable for loss that follows from a message that did not arrive or arrived late.
Software
The unit runs open-source software under the GNU General Public License version 3. You may study, change and share it under that licence. The unit accepts firmware updates only through the app; the leaflet explains how.
Complaints
Write to hello@meshsat.net. We answer within five working days and try to settle the matter with you. You keep the right to take a dispute to the court of your place of residence.
Law
Dutch law applies. The consumer protections of the law of your country of residence remain yours where they are stronger. We may change these terms for future orders; the terms in force when you order apply to that order.
