Conformity documentsHereby, Elli.Z.G., trading as MeshSat, declares that the radio equipment type MeshSat Compact v2 (MSC-2) is in compliance with Directive 2014/53/EU. 02 / Beyond the local mesh
Start a message in the MeshSat app, or on your team's local mesh. The gateway provides the satellite link. Explore both paths and the current Android and iOS support below.
The complete MSC-2 satellite exchange is still ahead. Android's node-connected 9704 path and standalone mesh-to-modem routing have bench evidence. These diagrams explain the intended workflow. Active airtime, usable radio links and the relevant routing setup are required; message delivery is not guaranteed.
03 / The MeshSat apps
Your phone gives you a place to write, follow message status and see predicted satellite passes. The satellite hardware stays in the node.
Get MeshSat on Google Play. The node-connected 9704 path was bench tested on 8 October; its satellite test is still pending.
The documented satellite tests use the earlier 9603 node. MSC-2 / 9704 support still needs confirmation. Check release status before planning an iPhone setup.
Support checked 11 October 2026. The Google Play edition has no SMS feature. Do not assume iOS continues relaying after the app leaves the foreground. See platform limits.
04 / The value of sharing
One gateway has one hardware price. See what that means when your team shares it.
Gateway hardware per person
Could a shared gateway fit your team?
Notify me at launchOptional / Your fuller estimate
The chart above always shows the gateway hardware alone. Add the other costs here.
The gateway's own radio is included. Start at zero if everyone already has a compatible radio.
Include applicable tax. No retailer price is assumed.
MSC-2 comparison basis: €1.800
Planned regular price, incl. VAT. The separate planned €1.111 launch offer is not used in this calculator.
Enter the full quoted period cost: airtime, activation, mandatory introductory fees, applicable tax, expected usage, accessories and shipping not already included. Account for minimum contractual commitments.
Hardware only. Service, activation, accessories and shipping are excluded. These are selected costs, not an all-in offer or a claim of equivalent capability.
Use a current quote for all equipment your selected team needs, including applicable tax. No competitor price or subscription count is pre-filled.
Your team size changed. Check that the entered quotes still cover this team.
Start with the €1.800 gateway basis. Add a current quote to compare your selected costs.
MSC-2 hardware = €1.800 + additional radios x your entered unit price. Another setup uses the whole-team hardware quote you enter.
In 24-month mode, each side adds its entered total for service and other required costs. Missing costs are not treated as zero. Enter zero only when you have checked that no such cost applies.
Use the same currency, tax treatment, team size, period and expected usage. Include required fees and contractual commitments. Values are shown to the cent.
A difference between entered subtotals is not a verified market saving. It does not establish equivalent coverage, reliability, traffic allowance, app support or emergency service.
MSC-2 is a prototype. It shares one gateway, which depends on power, mesh reachability and a usable satellite link. Its first complete-unit satellite exchange is still pending.
No monitored rescue service is included. The red button is intended for a preset quick message.
Plan the shared system
Consider where it travels, who can reach it over the mesh, and how the team will operate if it loses power or a link. Choose a setup based on the work it must do.
Research another option
Check the manufacturer's current product and regional plan terms. Its product page describes monitored SOS; MSC-2 has no monitored rescue service. No Bivy price or required subscription count is assumed here.
ACR and Bivy product names identify the referenced third-party product. MeshSat is not affiliated with or endorsed by ACR or Bivy. Product information checked 11 October 2026.
05 / Inside MSC-2
Real components, clearly identified. The LILYGO board handles the local mesh. The RockBLOCK modem provides the satellite side of the design.

Product photos: LILYGO
The Meshtastic-compatible LoRa board, with display, GPS and the Bluetooth link to a phone. Its three buttons sit along the side of the enclosure.

Product photos: Ground Control
The Iridium IMT satellite modem. The short helical antenna serves this board. Satellite airtime is purchased separately from Ground Control.
Orange ASA enclosure. Approx. 146 x 63 x 63 mm for body and lid.
One planned 3.400 mAh 18650 cell, charged over USB-C at 5 V and 1 A.
The red button is intended for a preset message to a preset contact. It is not a monitored distress button.
06 / Built in the open
MSC-2 is a prototype. Here is the current evidence, with the next milestones kept just as visible.
Open the dated test recordThe RockBLOCK 9704 answered, registered and accepted a text. Mesh routing into the modem also worked without a phone.
Sending and receiving through satellite from the complete pilot unit. This has not yet been demonstrated.
Real measurements on the pilot unit. No battery-life figure, radio-range promise or water-resistance rating yet.
| Item | Status and evidence |
|---|---|
| RockBLOCK 9704 communication | Bench tested, 8 October: answered, registered and accepted a text. |
| Mesh routing without a phone | Bench tested, 8 October: message routed into the modem. |
| Complete MSC-2 satellite exchange | Next test. Not yet demonstrated from the complete unit. |
| Earlier RockBLOCK 9603 node | Sent and received satellite messages from a garden on 27 September. Different hardware; not proof for MSC-2. |
| MSC-2 radio range and battery life | Planned measurements on the pilot unit. |
| Enclosure water resistance | Planned testing. No rating claimed. |

No. The planned launch price covers the hardware package. Satellite airtime is purchased separately from Ground Control. Access fees and usage depend on the plan you choose.
The design is for compatible radios on the configured mesh, using matching radio and channel settings. It does not automatically bridge every radio within range.
The apps provide Bluetooth setup and a messaging interface for supported nodes. Android has a documented 9704 bench path. The iOS satellite evidence uses the earlier 9603 node; it does not establish MSC-2 compatibility. See current platform support.
Yes, the design includes a standalone path for configured mesh messages. That mesh-to-modem route has bench evidence. App-led messaging uses a paired phone; the complete MSC-2 satellite exchange still needs its first test.
The enclosure has an O-ring design, but no tested water-resistance rating is claimed. Testing is planned for the pilot unit.
Battery life has not been measured on the complete pilot unit. A figure will be published after testing.
No. MSC-2 is a prototype and is not an emergency service or distress device. The red quick-message button is not monitored, and no rescue service is included.
One shared connection, in development.
